1.train of thought 思路

train of thought，其实就是表示我们日常常说的“思路”，思路被打断，英语里面就可以翻译为——interrupted my train of thought。

The phone ringing interrupted my train of thought.

电话响起来打断了我的思路。

I failed to follow his train of thought.

我跟不上你的思路。

可以看到，train这里不是表示“火车”，而是表示“连续的，一连串”的意思：

a train of sth——表示一连串的动作或者事件

It is to start a train of events beyond your control.

这始于一连串超越你想象的事件。

2.put sth in train 启动，实施

同样也是train的妙用，还有put sth in train这个词组有点像我们日常中文说的“没时间解释了，快上车”，表示“事件或者项目要启动了”。

Plans to modernize have been set in train.

现代化的计划已经开始实施。

3.train wreck 火车事故；糟糕的情况

train wreck，查词典的话，一般会解释为“火车事故”之类的，但这个词有一个非正规用法，就是表示“某样事物或者事情非常糟糕，让人不忍目睹”。

The movie was a train wreck.

这电影真的非常糟糕。

4.train up 培养，克服

刚才的train主要是作为名词，表示“一系列...”或者“火车”的意思，作为动词，就表示“培训，培育”的意思，常用的词组就是这个train up。

My brother is training up to be a judge.

我的兄弟正在培育自己成为一个裁判
